Broadloom, Axminster and modular carpet tile

Carpet is still the hotel floor most guests notice.

It quiets the room next door. It takes a branded pattern in a ballroom. It is what a suitcase rolls over at midnight. Hotel carpet installation is not a residential recarpet — it is a commercial product, a live-building method, and a spare plan for the room that gets wrecked in month four.

We supply and install hotel carpet in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Groups can take supply-only. Most properties want one contractor for product, uplift, subfloor and lay. Carpet tiles for hotels and motels are also offered through modularcarpet.com.au when a tile-swap maintenance model is the brief.

Formats we put down

Broadloom for rooms and many corridors. Axminster and woven patterned carpet for lobbies, ballrooms and branded public areas. Carpet tiles where a single stain or burn should not take a whole room out of inventory.

Hotel carpet questions

What kinds of hotel carpet do you supply and install?

Broadloom, Axminster and patterned woven carpet for public areas and many guest rooms, plus commercial carpet tiles for rooms and corridors where a single tile swap matters. The spec follows brand standard, acoustics and how you repair damage.

Can you install hotel carpet in an occupied building?

Yes. Rooms are released in blocks. Corridors are often done at night with guest-safe hoarding. Low-odour adhesives and quiet methods are chosen for live floors. Read the occupied-hotel guide.

Do you offer supply-only hotel carpet?

Yes. If your group has an installer or an in-house trade, we can supply the specified range. Most hotels ask for supply-and-install so measurement, preparation and laying sit with the product.

What about spare carpet for later room repairs?

We plan a spare allocation of the same dye lot or tile batch so housekeeping and engineering can repair a single room later. Ask for that in the brief — do not rely on leftover offcuts from the job.

What to include in a hotel carpet specification

Start with the space rather than a colour sample. A guest room, a trolley route and a ballroom have different traffic, acoustic and maintenance needs. Compare broadloom, woven Axminster and modular carpet tiles against the way each area is used.

  • Traffic and cleaning: identify luggage, housekeeping trolleys, food service and the cleaning methods available to your team. Request the manufacturer’s commercial-use and care information.
  • Acoustics: assess the complete floor construction, including underlay, subfloor and transitions. A product sample alone cannot demonstrate the sound performance of the installed floor.
  • Compliance: request the relevant fire-test information and confirm suitability for the building and location with your project team.
  • Repairs and continuity: allow for spare material from the same production batch, pattern matching, door clearances and future room repairs.
  • Room releases: agree preparation, adhesive curing and handover requirements before promising rooms back to reservations.

For visual reference, Airlay’s Quest Cannon Hill project shows carpet in guest rooms and conference spaces. Bring a preferred product or brand standard to your brief; suitability and availability are confirmed for your project.
