Hotel vinyl flooring. Made for busy spaces.
LVT and plank where you want a hard, mop-clean look. Welded sheet vinyl where water, kitchens and housekeeping chemicals actually land.
LVT, plank and welded sheet vinyl
Vinyl is not one product in a hotel.
LVT can look like timber in a suite living room or a restaurant. Sheet vinyl with welded seams is what belongs in a bathroom, a commercial kitchen, a laundry and a pool-adjacent wet room. Mixing them up is how you get swollen edges, failed seams and a slip complaint.
We supply and install hotel vinyl flooring — LVT, plank and sheet — in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, staged around occupancy. Wet-area selection and slip resistance are covered in the wet areas page and the slip-resistance guide. For the room-versus-corridor product split, read carpet or LVT.
Subfloor moisture and levelling come first. Vinyl does not hide a damp slab. That preparation is part of the same quote as the coverings.
Hotel vinyl questions
Where does LVT belong in a hotel?
Suite living rooms, some accessible rooms, restaurant and bar floors, back-of-house corridors that need a mop-clean finish, and brands that want a timber look without timber’s movement. Standard guest rooms often stay on carpet for acoustics.
What is the difference between LVT and sheet vinyl in a hotel?
LVT is plank or tile — a look floor. Sheet vinyl is welded at the seams for wet and hygiene areas: bathrooms, kitchens, laundry, plant and some clinical-adjacent spaces. They are not interchangeable.
Can vinyl be installed in an occupied hotel?
Yes, with the same staging as carpet. Adhesive odour and cure time are planned into the night window so rooms are back on sale. Wet areas may need a longer close-out than a dry LVT plank.
LVT and safety sheet vinyl solve different problems
Luxury vinyl tile and plank can provide a timber or stone appearance in suites and other suitable interior areas. Safety sheet vinyl is a separate specification for locations where water, grease or frequent cleaning affect the flooring brief. A timber-look finish does not, by itself, establish wet-area suitability.
For each zone, confirm the expected footwear, contaminants, cleaning chemicals, drainage and manufacturer slip-test information. Bathrooms and pool surrounds may need a system designed for barefoot use; kitchens and service areas present different risks.
Forbo’s Step safety and wetroom flooring information illustrates how manufacturers separate these uses. The Surestep Wood photograph on this page is safety vinyl in a hospitality service area, rather than a claim that all wood-look flooring suits wet rooms.
Subfloor moisture, flatness, acoustic requirements, coving and welded seams should be resolved before installation. We can review these requirements alongside your occupied-hotel refurbishment programme. Read our wet-area slip-resistance guide before selecting a product.
